“Rock ‘n’ roll might not solve your problems, but it does let you dance all over them.” – Pete Townsend

On September 2nd 2022, Stir Cove and Foreigner took us all back to a time when a band could have more than 1 hit record, or even more than 5 hit records. Surely no more than 10 hits. How bout 16 top 30 hits? Yes, that’s 16 top 30 songs, and the boys in Foreigner played them all.

Before Foreigner hit the stage, we were treated to Jack Goldsmith, a sophomore at Logan-Magnolia High School. Jack won the High School Guitar Hero contest hosted by Classic Rock 105.9. It was only about 15 minutes, but Jake had the crowd rocking and did a super job pumping everybody up

During their 90-min set, Foreigner had the crowd singing to every song from Double Vision to fan favorites “I Wanna Know What Love Is”, which was aided by thousands of swaying cell phone lights and the 50 plus year old rock anthem, “Hot Blooded”.

In between, Foreigner blasted us with loaded shells of nostalgia. “Dirty White Boy”, “Feels Like the First Time”, “Juke Box Hero”, “Urgent” and “Blue Morning”, to name a few. The band and the sound in general were spot-on. Everything clicked. I also like the minimalistic use of stage props, as it made it easier to focus on the band members. There was so much cheering from the crowd and tons of chatter from the band as well.  As they finished up, the final sounds came from the audience.  One more song…one more song…one more song!!!

It was a superb performance and any past, present or new Foreigner fan had to have left completely satisfied.  A big thank you to Stir Cove who once again showed why they are one of the top outdoor venues in America.
