On Saturday, September 14, Downtown Lincoln was abuzz as The Rumours arrived to deliver a fascinating performance at the 1867 Bar. Although the Nebraska football game was happening nearby, for me, this was the main event. I missed their previous performance on June 25 of this year, when they opened for The Supersuckers at the Zoo Bar, only a block away from the 1867 Bar, which was heartbreaking.
The Rumours, a three-piece punk rock band from Waterloo, Iowa, comprising lead vocalist and guitarist Carli Foxx, bassist and backing vocalist Ela Moore, and drummer Clint Wheelman, brought their dynamic show to the 1867 Bar in support of their latest album, Kill or Be Killed, released on July 5th. This album follows their 2020 release, Suck It. Having not attended an event at the 1867 Bar since June 2022, when I saw Alex Story and his band Cancerslug perform, I was so thrilled to experience The Rumours’ live show.
It was a truly impressive and unforgettable night of punk rock music!
