On December 2nd, 2017 The Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan was host to a sold-out show featuring headliners Red Sun Rising.
Opening the show were a couple local bands, Mercy Beach and Avalon Black, both bands got the crowd in the mood to rock.
Due to a disconnect between Red Sun Rising’s public relations and their tour manager, I was unable to shoot from the photo pit, but fortunately I was allowed by the venue owner to shoot from the crowd. So, I made the best I could out of the situation. The crowd was amped and ready for Red Sun Rising and the cheers roared once the band made their way out. Mike Protich lead the crowd with some high energy and spirited vocals. Pat Gerasia was a mad man on drums. Dave McGarry on rhythm guitar, Ricky Miller on bass and Ryan Williams on lead guitar shredded throughout the night.
As Protich mentioned this was one of the few shows left for their ‘Polyester Zeal’ album tour, which has spawned #1 hits “The Otherside” and “Emotionless” and honestly the rest of the album is great, so fret not fans, their new album will be arriving in 2018. For one the best live bands performing these days, there’s going to be more rock and roll to come from this group out of Akron, Ohio. That’s something to look forward to.
