Friday, March 30, 2018 – Tonight Prong was playing the Slidebar. I’d heard about this venue, but had never actually been. It was an interesting place which had three different stages. I arrived early enough to enjoy a nice meal and catch up with some friends. I even noticed Liquid Metal Host, Jose Mangin, was on hand. As the night progressed the venue was getting packed. The crowd eagerly awaited Prong to hit the stage. Even noticed some Danzig fans on hand. Tommy Victor, the driving force and founding member of Prong, is also known for his guitar work in Danzig.
Tommy, drummer Art Cruz, and Jason Christopher on base, who’s played with Prong in the past, hit the stage right on time. The band has just released the official music video for the song “Forced Into Tolerance.” The track is from the their latest release, “Zero Days,” which was released last July. Tommy and crew started their set this evening with this track and the place went wild. A very aggressive song which was a perfect way to start the night.
Prong has such a large catalog. Tommy had even mentioned at one point during the show that they had released 6 albums in the last 5 years. No downtime for these guys. Throughout the rest of the night the band ripped through songs from all their albums including “Beg To Differ,” “Unconditional,” “Prove You Wrong,” “Turnover,” and of course the classic metal anthem, “Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck.” The Fullerton crowd enjoyed every minute it! The band’s energy was top notch and look forward to seeing them back in Southern California again. They are currently doing a west coast run so be sure to check them out!
