Tonight Death Metal Masters, Nile, brought the house down at 1720 in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. If you are not familiar with Nile, they are a death metal band originally from Greenville, South Carolina and are known for their dedicated lyrical and musical styles inspired by Egyptology and other ancient Middle Eastern cultures. Tonight, Go Venue was there to cover the chaos!
We got there in time to catch Incantation. They are one of the leaders in the New York City death-metal scene. They got the night started with “Guardians From the Primeval.” They went on to play other crushing tracks like “Carrion Prophecy,” “Anoint The Chosen,” “Deavoured Death,” and “Nocturnal Dominium.” The LA fans were in full mosh mode as the circle pit roared with aggression. Always a pleasure to see these guy live. A killer set by Incantation!
Next it was time for the mighty Nile. They got a standing ovation from the metal maniacs in the crowd as soon as they took the stage. Things were in place, and Nile got things started with the roar of “Sacrifice Unto Sebek.” A crushing track that made the LA crowd go wild. Heavy headbanging and moshing all night as the band played a varied selection from their musical catalog with songs like “Defiling the Gates of Ishtar,” “Call to Destruction,” “Long Shadows of Dread,” “In the Name of Amun,” and “Snake Pit Mating Frenzy.” This was a crushing show that you don’t want to miss if it passes near your town.
In addition, Nile signed a worldwide contract with Napalm Records last year. Nile mastermind Karl Sanders comments, “The band is eagerly looking forward to bringing fans the next chapters in the NILE saga, as part of the Napalm Family. We have been quietly working away, earnestly writing new songs for the next NILE album. It will be NILE’s 10th record, and we are determined to make it especially killer for the fans.” We look forward to this!
