Drug Church was the very first band to go on stage. The band formed in Albany, NY., in 2011. Their style is very hardcore punk in my opinion but they list themselves as alternative. They drew a large crowd for an opening band. The lead singer had everyone get closer to the front and have everyone look out for one another. Not something you would expect from someone screaming into the mic.

Trash Boat played next and made their start in 2014 in St Albans, UK. On their Facebook account they list their genre as “screamo” which is a term I have never heard before and is influenced by hardcore punk. Their music is very fast and loud! The lead singer jumped out into the crowd a few times and was still able to sing while lifted in the air, which was impressive! Check out their newest album “Crown Shyness” from 2018 with Hopeless Records.

Boston Manor is from Blackpool, Lancashire, England and formed in 2013. They seemed more pop punk than the other bands. I really liked the song “Halo” and so did the crowd! There were lots of crowd surfers enjoying the music. I have not seen that many in one night than I have for the last 20 years! I always enjoyed doing it and was glad to see Slims allowed it! Just watch the back of your head. They released their 2nd album “Welcome to the Neighborhood” in September of 2018 with Pure Noise Records.

Movements was the headliner and boy was the crowd pumped! The show was sold out and the venue was packed. They formed in 2015 in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. They are described as “Post-Hardcore” and “Emo” on their Facebook page genre. You could tell the crowd was excited for this band! The whole place was jumping and singing. After I finished shooting their first 3 songs I could barely move through the crowd. It seemed as if the whole venue jumped insync as the music played. The band signed with Fearless Records in August 2015. Their newest album “Feel Something” came out in 2017 and they did a kick ass cover of R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion” in 2018. All bands are touring the U.S. now, check them out!
