Tonight, October 3, 2021, the twins of evil, better known as Twin Temple, brought their LA satanic doo-wop sound to the Observatory North Park in San Diego, California.
They were there as a supporting act on the Volbeat tour. Twin Temple is composed of vocalist Alexandra and her husband, Zachary James, who plays lead guitar. Their sound is a mix of blues with the familiar melodies of the 50s and 60s, but with an evil twist. San Diego was in for a treat as Beelzebub’s darkest dreams would bestow us tonight and Go Venue was there to cover it!
Twin Temple promptly took the stage at 7:00pm. Alexandra and Zach were accompanied by their full band as they started the evening with giving thanks to the one and only Satan! They began the set with the haunting sounds of “In Lyx” then went right into the catchy fan favorite “The Devil (Didn’t Make Me Do It).” Vocalist Alexandra is a great front-woman that captures the audience with her powerful yet eloquent vocals. She is backed by Zach on guitar and an entire band of amazing musicians. At one point, Alexandra got the crowd to help her sing along to “Satan’s a Woman” where she got everyone to sing “Satan” during the chorus. What a unholy, joyful time! They ended their set with Alexandra and Zach inserting a crucifix into a cup of blood, then giving each other a bloody red kiss. After what looked like a black mass ritual, they made their way off-stage leaving the crowd wanting more!
These guys put on a great show that’s not as scary as it looks. It’s actually a bloody good time! If you are in the Los Angeles area, you can catch them headlining the Fonda Theater on Halloween. This will be their final performance of the year before they go on the road next year with Ghost. See full set-list and photos from tonight’s performance below…
