Warrant came to party and brought their old friends the BulletBoys and new friends in Stretch. They sent fans down memory lane at The Astro in LaVista Nebraska, April 12th, 2025.

The show started off with a unique band called Stretch. The thing I noticed almost immediately was Stretch’s set is food based; from “Carnivore of Chaos” to “Eating My Way Across the USA” to “Bubble Gut”. The video screens showed clips of Guy Feiri eating, the stage was adorned with hot dog mic stands and there were references made to Tums and Rolaids. I thought to myself, Stretch could be the face of a new music genre, “food rock”. After the set, I discovered Stretch is in fact a Restaurateur and owner of Grinders in Kansas City. It was all coming together.

Second on stage was BulletBoysMarq Torien, sporting original design white Bulletboys pants (minus the holes), still has the voice and swagger. Torien sounded great, was animated and his smooth slanky moves enticed the audience. Original bassist Lonnie Vencent recently rejoined the band, and thank goodness for that. He was on fire, slinging his bass, working the stage and hyping up the crowd.

Finally, Warrant entered and amped up the party. I could tell they still love playing, and they came to rave. Warrant kicked off their set emitting pure energy with ”Down Boys” and “So Damn Pretty” then slowed the tempo with “Bed of Roses”. The 17-song set ebbed and flowed between ballads and rockin’ jams. Robert Mason (lead vocals) paid homage to Jani Lane, rest in peace, before having the crowd light up their cellphones and continuing with arguably their biggest hit, “Heaven”. Warrant wrapped up their set with “Cherry Pie” bringing the BulletBoys back on stage, shutting down the party in style.

I loved watching two bands I idolized in my youth still thriving and having a blast. It was evident by the crowd’s reaction; these bands evoke good memories and even if, for just one night, they helped people relive some of the best moments of their lives.
