Riot Fest Will Return in 2021 After Cancel This Year

Chicago, IL 2021

Back in my day, we did this thing where we went to concerts and bands blasted out live music to the enjoyment of all our earholes. It was the best of times until the worst of times fell upon us. With the advent of Covid-19 bringing us things such as quarantine periods, Zoom meetings for work, and virtual concerts – live music seems like a distant memory.

BUT IT’S BACK ON NOW!

And let me tell you…this is big.

This is bigger than your looming student debt.

This is bigger than Trump’s hands.

This is even bigger than the smile on Bill Belichick’s face after eating an ecstasy laced Subway sandwich.

What am I talking about?

RIOT FEST 2021 BABY!

The assholes who can’t get over the fact that pineapple DOES go on pizza (see their list of banned items) ((but it’s forgivable due to their deep love for John Stamos)) are back and better than ever! Get ready to sweat your ass off come rain or shine in Douglass Park, Chicago, IL between September 17th – 19th 2021 as there is a reported MONSTER lineup set to take on multiple stages. And, for eligible travelers, they are opening the gates on September 16th for a Thursday night preview, where you can shop from the vendors, hear surprise sets from mystery bands – one of which is a Thursday night exclusive, enjoy some carnival rides without the wait (but still the pending fear of doom of course), and MORE.

Who’s in the “First Wave” you ask? Oh, you know…a bunch of no-names you’ve never heard of like My Chemical Romance, Smashing Pumpkins, and Coheed and Cambria to name a few. We’ll post a link so you can check out the full line up, and trust me – this is STACKED.

So what does it cost?

The long story short is who gives a shit. I would literally donate my left testi…kidney…my left kidney to get to this thing after being starved for live music for almost an entire year. But I digress.

Tickets range from $168 + fees all the way up to $1599.98 with fees included (hope you saved those stimulus checks!). And yes, there’s a vast difference in what you’ll get for the price – minor things like access to a fully-stocked, all-inclusive bar, air-conditioned spaces to drop a deuce and private lockers to put all the merch you’re going to buy to name a few. Single-day tickets on sale now.

The best part? There’s music for everyone. From pop-punk, emo, hip hop…it’s all covered under this festival. Oh, and another cherry on top? You’d spend thousands of dollars trying to see all these bands on their own. Right now you can still get tickets for as low as $168 + fees on the website, so I’d definitely hustle your music starved selves over to the interwebs to snatch up a couple of those.

There will be more announcements as the date gets closer of course, and we will do our best to keep you posted on all the new developments. But as it stands right now, if the second and third wave are indicative of the first one, this is going to be the best damn festival of the entire year, and you won’t want to miss it!
