On March 18th, 2023, the Rock Resurrection Tour landed in Omaha at Baxter Arena. Three rocking bands that kept the crowd on their feet the whole night. Saint AsoniaTheory of a Deadman, and Skillet delivered the goods and by judging from the reaction from the crowd, rock has definitely been resurrected.

First up Saint Asonia, led by former Three Days Grace former frontman, Adam Gontier. They got the crowd going by playing some song of their newest release, Introvert/Extrovert. But not ignoring his past, Mr. Gontier also led the band in playing some of Three Days Grace hits from his time in the band, and even reached back to his days in Apocolyptica and played one of my personal favorites I don’t Care. This was my first-time seeing Saint Asonia, and I’m hoping it won’t be the last. It was a great set they performed!

Next up was Theory of a Deadman. They took the stage performing the title track of their latest album, Dinosaur. Which was released just the day before. This was my third time seeing Theory, and to be honest, probably my favorite of all. I don’t know if it was because it was in an arena and the energy from the crowd just made a difference with what I was seeing, but whatever it was, I felt they were on fire for the whole set. One good thing about a Theory of a Deadman show is that you know you’re going to get a wide variety of songs ranging from many of their hits from early albums, new songs from the latest release, and a cover song or two. Tonight was Wicked Game by Chris Isaac and an impromptu acoustic Friends in Low Places by the great Garth Brooks. If you get the chance, check out the Dinosaur album, it has got some great moments on it!

Last to take the stage, and probably my favorite of the night, Skillet! They are literally a ball of energy on the stage! They opened with the song Feel Invincible off of their 2016 release Unleashed. Their set consisted of many hits from previous albums, but also many songs off their latest release, Dominion: Day of Destiny. A highlight being joined on stage with Adam Gontier to perform a song he helped with vocals on the new album, Finish Line. This was my first time catching a Skillet show. I loved the energy, the stage show, and most importantly, the songs. They well worth the effort to go see, if you get the chance you should go. You will not be disappointed!
