Man, how time flies. I cannot believe it’s time for Maha again.  On Wednesday, August 14, 2019 Maha kicked off in glorious fashion with art, lectures, dogs and of course music. Little Bohemia played host and several businesses stayed open late to accommodate everyone who attended.  Glass blower Corey Broman has for 17 years created incredible pieces of art with fire, clippers and his breath. Roland Fitz which opened last April and who sells vintage male and female apparel hosted the Queerniverse Music Video Premiere and featured DJ Crabrangucci.  Coneflower Creamery was there in pop-up fashion and speaking of pop-up, there was an Artist Market which featured everything imaginable. Archetype Coffee offered up Stephen Bartolomei and Brigitte McQueen Shew who gave us the Team Human Show.

The attraction that drew the most people was at the Tiny Bar. It was a PetFriendly Direct & Dog Bar “Pup-up”.  Aly Peeler and Andrew Bailie performed on the front deck and were assisted by their trusted uke case named Phillip.   My favorite event was seeing Bokr Tov behind the Grain & Mortar / Vincent Outfitting building.  These guys really are talented. Exceptional skills and an ear for music like no others.  Layers upon layers of sound without being overwhelming. Possibly, my new favorite Omaha band.

Check out their Facebook page here: BOKR TOV.

And of course you got to go and visit and like Maha Festival 2019.

The festival continues Friday starting at 5 p.m. at Aksarben Village.  Music includes Sharkweek, Esencia Latina Band, Snail Mail, Courtney Barnett and Jenny Lewis.

On Saturday we start at noon with SharkWeek, Domestic Blend, Muscle Cousins, Omaha Girls Rock, Beach Bunny, Matt Maeson, Duckwrth, Oh Sees, Matt and Kim and closing the show none other that Lizzo.   See the Maha Facebook page for show times and all the info you’ll need to have a great time.
