Lucha Vavoom’s Valentine’s show, Pin-Ups and Pin-Downs, took place at the Mayan in Downtown Los Angeles on February 12 and 13.  The show was opened by the always exciting and unpredictable band, Starcrawler.  They warmed up the crowd for the crazy matches and beautiful burlesque acts that were to follow. Lucha VaVoom’s shows are so unique with their blending of lucha libre, burlesque and comedy.  The fans are engaged the entire time and often on their feet, cheering on their favorite luchadors.  Everyone’s energy is felt throughout the venue, which makes the event even more enthralling.

For the Thursday show, guest Drew Carey co-hosted the event and showcased his witty commentary.  Lucha match-ups included the Sexi Mexi’s, El Mariachi Loco, Lil Cholo, and the Crazy Chickens.  To break up the matches, burlesque routines from Miss Miranda, Trixie Little, and Veronica Yune.  Another round of wrestling came from Joey Ryan, Microman, Willie Mack, and Chamuel.  Joey Ryan pleased the crowd by performing his famous “dick move” on Microman, tossing him into the air using only his penis.  Taya Valkyerie and Magno dominated their match against Soberano Jr. and El Bombero. Miss Tosh made her Lucha VaVoom debut and her stage performance was absolutely beautiful and then the super bendy Brynn Route ended the evening with her amazing pole performance.

This is one of the most energetic and one of a kind events in Los Angeles and comes around every few months.  The next shows are on May 1-2 at the Mayan in Los Angeles.  Tickets are already on sale and can be found on their website.  Be quick because all of their events sell out fast.  Definitely do not miss when this madness comes to town!
