It was a sold out show at the Regent on December 8th, 2024, as one of the sickest tours of the year came to an end for Exodus, Havok, Dead Heat and Candy. The seamless blend of hardcore and thrash metal came together to absolutely destroy Los Angeles. Since it was sold out, the venue filled up quick. Fans rushed to the front in order to catch Candy opening up the show. This band was thoroughly impressive from their energy, musicality and stage presence. It’s not an easy feat to get a mosh pit going during the first band’s set, but they were able to pull it off. They’ve been having a lot of hype lately, and it’s well deserved. Dead Heat, a band from Oxnard, were exceptional. They had the attention of the entire audience, and the pit was in full force. They are another band that’s been getting a lot of notice lately from hardcore fans, as well as from the metal community.
Leading up to Exodus and Havok was pure excitement. The venue kept filling up more and more as the night went on. Havok erupted on stage, drenched in green lighting. The crowd-surfing started immediately, with people making their way to the stage and jumping back into the awaiting crowd. People could be heard saying they’ve seen Havok perform many times, and it’s always a good time. The hype was at an all-time high once Exodus came out. Various liquids were being tossed in the air, along with people dressed in different costumes like Santa hats. Tunes off of “Bonded by Blood,” which is considered one of the most influential debut thrash albums of all time, were played for everyone’s enjoyment. This was the final stop for Exodus on this headlining tour, and Los Angeles did not disappoint. Havok continued on to headline some Southwest shows and then conclude in Albuquerque. Let’s hope another tour will be coming around in 2025.
