Pop-rockers The Wrecks performed once again at the Bourbon Theatre on Nov. 16, 2025, in Lincoln, Nebraska. The LA band, who is currently on “The INSIDE:OUTSIDE Tour,” is composed of lead singer Nick Anderson, guitarist Nick Schmidt, bassist Aaron Kelley and drummer Billy Nally.
First to open for The Wrecks was indie-punk band Wall Carpets, starring drummer and vocalist Trevor Hogan, guitarist Calvin Platt, bassist Liam Hogan and guitarist Thomas Greco.
For those who may not know much about Wall Carpets, it was unexpected to see Trevor Hogan drum and sing at the same time. It is an impressive feat to be able to sing and play drums simultaneously.
Following Wall Carpets was the alternative rock band Phoneboy from New Jersey. The band consists of vocalists and guitarists Wyn Barnum and Ricky Dana, bassist James Fusco, keyboardist and vocalist Jordan Torres and drummer Christian Nace.
Phoneboy had an immaculate stage presence that set the evening up perfectly. Their movement on stage, from jumping around and dancing to engaging with the crowd, built up an indescribable energy in the crowd, who even sang along to a couple of their songs. Torres stood out in the performance, with an electrifying, synthy keyboard solo and powerful vocals.
Finally, the long-awaited The Wrecks came on stage next. It’s been three years since the band last stopped in Nebraska, and it was evident that everyone in the Bourbon Theatre anticipated their return. Fans cheered loudly for the band, sang every word and jumped to the music.
The band opened with three bangers, “Sonder,” “Out Of Style” and “Always, Everytime.”
The Wrecks have a stand-out live performance, making their concerts nothing short of entertaining. Each band member moves around on stage, and it is evident that they are enjoying themselves as much as the crowd is. The Wrecks thrive off live performance.
The band also makes an effort to interact with fans throughout the show, making the performance all the more immersive. Kelley talked with a fan at one point during the show, pulled an Uncrustable out of his pocket and offered it to them. Anderson also went into the crowd multiple times to mosh with fans during songs.
Trevor Hogan is also a crew member of The Wrecks. Anderson started a running joke throughout the evening that for every chant of Trevor Hogan’s name, he would donate a few cents to the Wall Carpets fund. After almost every song and after the cheers died out, there would be faint chants of “Trevor.”
The Wrecks also performed “Turn It Up,” which isn’t currently on the setlist. Anderson said before the song that they hadn’t played it in four years, and the crowd was ecstatic to hear the intro ring out in the Bourbon Theatre.
The Wrecks are a band that you just have to see live. Their recorded music does not do their live performance justice. The Wrecks’ punchy basslines and tight, rhythmic guitar riffs capture an audience and bring them together.
