March 11, 2018 — This past Sunday evening brought the terror stomping back to Hollywood, CA with DOYLE playing to a Sold Out crowd at Whisky A-Go-Go. The band has been touring extensively in support of their latest follow up to the 2013 release of ‘Abominator’. Their latest release, ‘As We Die’, was released in 2017 and continues to bring the brutal metal sounds the first album delivered.
Usually the Whisky is pretty relaxed and some what barren on Sunday nights. Tonight was definitely an exception with DOYLE in town. I arrived just in time to see DOYLE hit the stage. The venue was completely packed and everyone was ready for the band to hit the stage.
The line up included vocalist Alex “Wolfman” Story, Brandon Strate on bass, Wade Murff on drums, and the monster man himself, Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein on guitar. It was finally time and once they hit the stage they busted out into “Abominator.” Such a crushing song to begin the set and get the crowd going. They roared through a lot of their new material like “Beast Like Me,” “Witchcraft,” “Kiss Me As We Die,” and “God of Flies.”
They also played a good amount of songs from their 1st album as well.
The crowd couldn’t get enough! They wanted more, but their set finally came to an end with “Hope Hell is Warm.” Doyle and crew definitely didn’t disappoint. A crushing set that left the mark of the beast at the Whisky A-Go-Go. Definitely check them out if you have the opportunity!
Also, you can catch Doyle with the Original Misfits this May in New Jersey.
