On Monday night November 4, 2019, Augustana put on a hell of a show at The Waiting Room Lounge in Omaha, Nebraska.
Before the group took the stage, concertgoers were treated to a performance by Nashville, Tennessee native, Zac Clark. Clark is no stranger to the stage, having been on tour with Augustana since earlier this year, and also having toured with the likes of Billy Joel, Weezer, and Ben Folds. His Folk/Rock sound and smooth vocals were a definite hit with the crowd.
After a brief intermission, Augustana made their way to the stage, much to the delight of the crowd. Not wasting any time, they dove right in and played one of their well-known hits, “Stars & Boulevards”, from their 2005 album, All The Stars & Boulevards. Their 20-song set included one of my all-time favorite songs, “Boston”, which reached the top of the Billboard charts in 2005. Front man, Dan Layus, was joined onstage with two other guitar players and a drummer, none of which are members of the original group. The band had a perfect blend of upbeat songs and slower ballads, and they sounded just as good, if not better, in person, as compared to their studio albums. I’ve been a fan of Augustana’s music since their debut album in 2005, and I was glad they played some songs from their 2014 album, Life Imitating Life. Zac Clark and Augustana are the perfect pairing, and it’s easy to see why they’re selling out venues across the United States. This concert was great!
