The masked hooligans of Creepsylvania, GHOUL, return to the West Coast this week to headline the fourth annual Weapons Of Mosh Destruction tour. The parade of pandemonium begins on August 8th in Fresno, California and will soil the stages of nine venues upon its conclusion on August 16th in San Francisco, California. Support will be provided by War Bison as well as recent additions, Skullcrack and labelmates Cliterati, who take the place of Fireburn. GHOUL will also join The Black Dahlia Murder for another round of live abrasions late this fall. Slated to run from November 30th through December 12th, the trek will find GHOUL sharing stages with the likes of Pig Destroyer, Power Trip, Khemmis, Gost, Skeletal Remains, Havok, Devourment, and Midnight on select shows. See all confirmed dates below.
Issues Digestor, “GHOUL is sad to say that Fireburn had to drop off the Weapons Of Mosh Destruction 4 Tour, but happy to announce that the main support duties will be shared by Skullcrack and Cliterati! What can I say? We’re emotionally complex. Also, it’s been a long time coming but we’re finally pairing up with the death metal juggernaut The Black Dahlia Murder and a who’s who of awesome bands to fuck up your sad little banana republic for about two weeks in November and December. Get your affairs in order, because you will not leave the hall alive!”

GHOUL released their delightfully deviant Dungeon Bastards studio offering in 2016 via Tankcrimes. The record consumed Billboard Charts upon its first week of release debuting at #11 on the Heatseekers Chart, #13 on the Top Vinyl Albums Chart, #13 on the Hard Rock Chart, and #27 on the Independent Albums Chart. The band also earned prime spots on year end lists globally including the #19 position of Decibel’s Top 40 Albums Of 2016, the revered rag issuing of the album, “For those who lived through Nancy and Ronald, S.O.D., and D.R.I., GHOUL‘s sound is like finding a shoebox of discontinued candy, all of it fresh to eat. That said, the gonzo midnight movie vibe and cartoonish energy on Dungeon Bastards perfectly articulates the apocalyptic anxiety that we’re all sharing in 2016.
Produced and mixed by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City) at Antisleep Studios in Oakland and mastered by Dan Randall (Impaled, Annihilation Time, Fucked Up, Necrot) at Mammoth Sound in San Francisco, Dungeon Bastards wields eleven hemorrhage-inducing tracks of the band’s now-patented Creepsylvanian splatterthrash.
Dungeon Bastards is out now on CD and digital formats. Tankcrimes recently repressed the LP edition (now available limited-edition splatter or blue vinyl) which includes a gatefold jacket that opens into the Dungeon Bastards board game. Players take turns advancing through a Creepsylvanian map; the first one to get to end of the map and jump the Wall Of Death wins.
Most recently, GHOUL united with Brooklyn-based MC/Uncle Howie Records owner, Ill Bill (Non Phixion, Heavy Metal Kings) with Goretex (Non Phixion), for a two-song split 7″, out now via Tankcrimes! Said Riot Nerd of GHOUL‘s portion, “With new releases on the way from seminal thrashers At The Gates, The Crown, and The Haunted this year, GHOUL proves with one track that they still wear the gore rotted championship belt in the land of speed and chug, and the eerie and verbose cinematic stalking of the Ill Bill contribution is just icing on the Creepsylvanian cake.”
