I hadn’t heard of this rock band until very recently. I like the opportunity to listen to and review new music. Each track of this album feels empowering. Written for anyone dealing with an unhealthy relationship and trying to move forward. However, I had really hoped to hear different emotions and vocal ranges throughout the album. I hope that they do an unplugged/acoustic version.
Their single, “Not this time” has an aggressive strength in the vocals and instruments that compels you to take no ones shit! Stef sings, “I let you push me around, but not this time.“
After listening to this album, I would put them in a similar realm with Evanescence and Paramore.
I developed a personal favorite song, track #5 “Censor This.” The bass and guitar bring this song to a higher level, you can’t sit still…or at least I couldn’t.
