Last time Cradle of Filth was in town they played in Hollywood, California. This time around they came to the House of Blues in Anaheim. The band is out for their final US tour supporting their 2017 release Cryptoriana. The three bands that played tonight, including Cradle of Filth, are under The Oracle Management group, which was founded by Dez Fafara of DevilDriver. A great bill for these bands as they all share a dark, spooky side to them.
The evening got started with Raven Black. This was my first time seeing these guys and I instantly became a fan. They reminded of a cross between Jack Off Jill and Marilyn Manson. A loud and heavy set combined with creepy costumes and props made for a great opener. Be sure to arrive early, as you will not want to miss their set. The band made themselves available at their merch booth where they were selling CDs and Tshirts.
Next on the bill was Mr. Motherfucker himself, Wednesday 13. I had recently seen them at the OzzFest and was blown away by their energetic performance. Tonight was no different. Another spooky band with heavy riffs that allowed for plenty of head banging. Mr. Motherfucker is a natural when performing. Definitely check them out if you have the chance.
It was finally time for the Dani Filth and his crew. This was the 2nd night of the tour, and the crowd was nice and primed for Cradle of Filth to take the stage. Tonight they started their set with “Gilded Cunt.” The band was pumped and the crowd loved it! They proceeded with “Nemesis” and then played a great set-list that spanned their entire catalog. The band never disappoints and kept the crowd wanting more. The lighting they brought tonight was incredible as the band crushed it on stage. This is definitely a show you don’t want to miss. Cradle of Filth will be on tour in the US through mid-April and into Europe and South America right after. Check for tour dates near you.
