Tonight was the LA premiere of Brutal Realty, Inc. I had been waiting for this film to hit Los Angeles as so far this short film has played a few times across America including Chicago’s Cinepocalypse 2019 film festival, but tonight on Devil’s night it was here in Los Angeles at the Zebulon. This is a short film directed by Erik Boccio, from a script written by Joseph Mueller. This film stars London May as The Summoner. London May is best known as the drummer for Glenn Danzig‘s band Samhain as well as other bands like Reptile House and Dag Nasty.
The evening started with an open invitation to all guests who wanted a photo opportunity with The Summoner. The Summoner, such a friendly fellow, was there to greet guests next to a Brutal Realty, Inc real estate sign that was smeared with blood and a back drop of a burning church. Now what a perfect way to get a photo with The Summoner. All guests were in their ghoulish Halloween costumes which only added to the evening’s gory flavor.
Shortly thereafter the evening got started with Count Crazy Craig who was the MC for tonight’s event. He got things started and introduced the man of the hour, The Summoner himself. He greeted everyone and prepared them for what was next, the short feature film, Brutal Realty, Inc. After a brief discussion from The Summoner, he saluted everyone with a “Hail Satan!” From there the movie began…
This movie was entertaining from the minute it started. This film focuses on The Summoner who is a martini-drinking ghoul who has become dissatisfied with his daily routine in life of playing metal and promoting depravity. He wanted to change it up and work on his real passion, selling affordable, single family real estate. The black metal demon tries to make an honest living and runs into some obstacles keeping him down. So many laughs and messages in this movie that make it a true classic. I enjoyed the movie’s humor and gore so much that I didn’t want it to end. Good thing this film will play again on November 10th at the Laemmle NoHo 7 in North Hollywood, California. Highly recommend this film if the premiere comes your way. Stay up to date by visiting http://www.Brutalrealtyfilm.com.
The evening concluded with a Q & A with Director Erik Boccio and other cast members. The Q & A was hosted by Raab Himself who is known for his work on Viva La Bam and Jackass. It was great to see how many people were involved to make such a film. Thanks and Props were given to all involved. This was then followed by a Halloween costume contest with some truly ghoulish outfits. Crazy Craig and Party Boy (also from Jackass) were there to cast the votes from the crowd. If this wasn’t enough, next was the debut of London May’s new band SYMBOLISM. London May plays drums and also includes Rikk Agnew (ex Adolescents, Christian Death), James McGearty (ex Christian Death) and vocalist known as Devix. They played a set of dark, ghoulish tunes that was loud and heavy! A killer line up that blasted through their set here at Zebulon. Look forward to seeing more from SYMBOLISM.
